Main Academic Focus & How I Can Support RCPAD Collaborators
Research focuses on improving outcomes for patients with vascular disease through clinical trials, translational research, innovation, and implementation science. Chief Investigator for multiple large-scale multicentre randomised controlled trials evaluating novel vascular interventions, service delivery, and cardiovascular risk reduction strategies. Research interests include peripheral arterial disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm, chronic limb-threatening ischaemia, cardiovascular prevention, and the evaluation of emerging vascular technologies. Extensive experience leading national and international collaborative research programmes, with funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), the British Heart Foundation (BHF), and industry partners. Able to support collaborators in clinical trial design, multicentre research, evidence generation, implementation science, and translating research into clinical practice.

Extensive experience establishing and leading national and international research collaborations, contributing to clinical guidelines, funding panels, and trial methodology committees. Author of more than 300 peer-reviewed publications, with significant expertise in mentoring early-career researchers, supervising higher-degree students, and leading multidisciplinary research teams. Experienced in industry collaborations, large-scale grant development, and delivering patient-centred research that informs healthcare policy and clinical practice.
